The first Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) missionary contact in Eastern Highlands Province, particularly in Homu Village, marked a significant milestone in the region's religious history. The SDA Church's missionary efforts in Papua New Guinea began in the early 20th century, focusing on remote and underserved areas to spread their message of faith, health, and education.
In the case of Homu Village, the contact likely occurred several decades ago, when SDA missionaries first arrived to establish a presence and share their teachings. These early missionaries faced challenging terrain and cultural differences but worked diligently through community engagement, health programs, and education initiatives to build trust and develop a supportive relationship with the villagers.
